The Rich Irony: Speeches Can Pay the Bills

Yesterday in an attack on Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton said, "Speeches don't put food on the table. Speeches don't fill up your tank or fill your prescription or do anything about that stack of bills that keeps you up at night."

The MSM has simply reported this as an attack on Obama about his famous rhetorical gifts and lack of experience. It seems that everyone has missed the incredibly rich irony of Senator Clinton's statement. Since leaving the White House, Bill Clinton has made millions from paid speaking engagements. And we can't know until the Clintons release their tax returns, but all indications are that paid speaking engagements are the main source of income for the Clintons. The irony is that speeches are literally what puts food on the table, fills the tank, and pays the bills at the Clinton household.

*This is the first installment of what will likely be a long multi-part series.

Speaking engagements feed the Huckabee family as well.
